In Rooted Together, we use themes from

The Sciences (science, history, geography, theology, etc.) to practice the Intellectual Arts via Mini-Units, Units, and courses.

Trivium Resources
(Language Arts)

The Trivium is the Language portion of the Intellectual (Liberal) Arts. 

It consists of three Arts, or sets of skills. Over the course of their education, a student learns, practices, and then uses these skills (alongside the Quadrivium) to learn any body of knowledge (The Sciences).


The Trivium Arts are:

Grammar (Language)

Logic (Reasoning)

Rhetoric (Articulation)


These resources can be used in the classroom or to supplement at home when learning and practicing the Language Arts at all levels. 

Quadrivium Resources
(Mathematical Arts)

The Quadrivium is the mathematics portion of the Intellectual (Liberal) Arts. It consists of four Arts, or sets of skills. Over the course of their education, a student learns, practices, and then uses these skillsÂ(alongside the Trivium) to learn any body of knowledge (The Sciences).

Arithmetic(Computation)

Geometry(Spatial Reasoning)

Astronomy(Observation)

Harmony(Proportion)
